PAPER PLANES
2009
PAPER PLANES is a sculptural installation composed of hundreds of hand-folded paper planes. Symbolic of travel, each plane bursts forth from a single window to encapsulate the viewer, echoing a tsunamic force of emotion so great that it swallows one whole. The work stems from an obsession with the notion of home and is based on a study on the mystifying force of nostalgia. The smallest paper plane is the size of one’s palm, while the biggest one is of one lying down.
